Linear and Jira
Written by the CustomerSaid team · Updated Oct 14, 2026 · 2 min read
CustomerSaid decides what to build and why. Linear and Jira hold the work. Connect either one so your solutions can link to real issues, create new ones, and follow their progress.
Who can do this: an Owner or Admin connects them in Settings › Integrations.
Linear
- Hosted: sign in with Linear. Status changes reach CustomerSaid through a webhook.
- Enterprise: paste a Linear personal API key. Linked issues are checked about every 15 minutes.
CustomerSaid can read your teams, search issues and create issues in a team you choose. A pasted URL from another Linear organization is refused.
Jira
- Hosted, Jira Cloud: sign in with Atlassian and pick your site. Status changes arrive by webhook.
- Jira Cloud with an API token: enter your email, an API token and your site URL. Issues are polled about every 15 minutes.
- Enterprise, Jira Data Center: enter the base URL and a personal access token. This option is available only for Enterprise installations.
CustomerSaid reads projects and issue types, searches issues and creates issues in the project and type you pick.
How status maps
| In your tracker | Shown in CustomerSaid |
|---|---|
| Backlog, to do, triage | To do |
| Started, in progress | In progress |
| Completed, done | Done |
| Canceled, duplicate | Cancelled |
For Jira, a done issue with a resolution such as Won't Do, Duplicate or Cannot Reproduce counts as cancelled. You can edit that list in the connection's settings. Other resolutions count as shipped.
What it never does
CustomerSaid creates issues and reads status. It does not add comments, change statuses or transition issues in your tracker.
Tokens and security
Credentials are verified with one call when you connect, then stored encrypted. Disconnecting removes them.
Good to know
- One Linear organization or Jira site can be live in only one workspace at a time.
- A webhook-based setup is near real time. Token-based setups refresh every 15 minutes.
Troubleshooting
Jira Data Center is refused. It is available only on Enterprise installations.
An issue from a different site is refused. Link issues from the site you connected.
Status is stale. If you connected with a token, wait for the next 15-minute check.
