Bring in your first feedback

Written by the CustomerSaid team · Updated Oct 14, 2026 · 2 min read

The fastest way to understand CustomerSaid is to add one real piece of customer feedback and see what happens to it. The setup checklist on your dashboard starts with exactly this.

Who can do this: anyone who can capture feedback. Members, Admins and Owners can. Viewers cannot.

Try one piece of feedback

  1. Open your dashboard. The first checklist step is Try one piece of feedback.
  2. Paste a customer quote, a support message or a call note into the box.
  3. Submit it. CustomerSaid saves the original text first, then reads it.

Within a short time, the item appears in Feedback, split into one or more signals. Each signal is a single customer need, such as a pain, a request or a churn risk.

What happens next

  1. Extraction. AI finds the individual signals in your text and keeps the exact quote behind each one.
  2. Matching. CustomerSaid compares the signals with your existing opportunities.
  3. A suggestion. If there is a good match, you see a suggestion to link the signal to it. If not, you see a suggestion to create a new opportunity.
  4. Your decision. Open Review, then accept, reject or redirect the suggestion.

Praise, questions and observations stay on the feedback item but do not create opportunities.

Add context for better suggestions

Two more checklist steps make the AI work better:

  • Product context. In Settings › Product context, add your landing page, knowledge base or a manual description so the Analyst understands your product.
  • Product areas. In Settings › Product areas, outline the parts of your product, such as Billing or Onboarding.

When you are ready for volume, import a CSV, forward emails, or connect a tool. See the Capturing feedback collection.

Troubleshooting

Nothing happened after I submitted. Processing runs in the background and can take a moment. Refresh the page. If the item shows as unanalyzed, you can retry processing.

It says my credits are used up. Your original text is still saved. Add credits or subscribe, then retry. See AI credits and usage.

I got no signals. Very short or empty-of-substance text such as a greeting can produce none. That is expected.
