Ask the Analyst

Written by the CustomerSaid team · Updated Oct 14, 2026 · 2 min read

The Analyst answers questions about your customer evidence in plain language. Ask what customers say about a topic, which companies are affected, or what you decided before, and it searches your workspace and replies with sources.

Who can do this: people who can use the Analyst (Member, Admin, Owner). It is hidden from Viewers.

Ask a question

  1. Open Analyst in the sidebar.
  2. Type a question of 3 to 2,000 characters. For example: "Which enterprise customers are asking for SSO?" or "What did we decide about exports?"
  3. Send it.

The Analyst reads only your workspace's data. It plans a few targeted searches, looks through opportunities, signals, companies, contacts, solutions and decisions, and writes an answer with citations. It does not change anything.

Attach context

Type @ in the question box to attach an opportunity, company or other record, so the answer focuses on it. You can also start from Ask Analyst on a page, which opens the question with that context.

Follow-up questions

Each conversation is a thread. The Analyst remembers up to the last 12 turns, so you can ask "and how many of them are on the Pro plan?" without repeating yourself.

Private and shared threads

Threads are visible to the whole workspace by default. The creator can make a thread private, and only the creator can change that.

What it is good at

  • Counting and ranking: top opportunities, companies behind a theme.
  • Pulling exact quotes.
  • Summarizing decisions and solutions.
  • Explaining your product using the product context you have added.

Limits

  • Answers are limited to evidence in your workspace. If nothing supports an answer, it says so.
  • Product documentation is never treated as proof of customer demand, revenue or priority.
  • You can send about 30 questions per workspace per hour.
  • Revenue figures appear only for people allowed to see revenue.
  • Answers cost a small amount of AI credit. See AI credits and usage.

Tips

  • Be specific. Name the product area, segment or time period.
  • Ask for quotes when you need to share evidence.
  • Check the citations before you act on a surprising result.

Troubleshooting

It says another answer is still being written. A thread handles one answer at a time. Wait a moment, or start a new thread.

I hit the rate limit. Wait until the hour passes.
